What is hypnotherapy?

Clinical Hypnotherapy can help you change almost anything you want in the way you think or behave. It's very effective for a wide range of issues and works quickly compared to other therapies. Hypnotherapy taps into the power of your subconscious mind to help you achieve your goal in a way that's comfortable for you.

The treatment sessions are relaxing, enjoyable and often life changing. It's important to know that clinical hypnotherapy is very different from stage hypnosis. You stay in control and can't be made to do anything you don't want to do. Most people I see have never had hypnotherapy before and when they have it, they love it!

What can it be used for?

Hypnotherapy can be used to treat issues like anxiety, stress, worry, fears and phobias, difficulty with confrontation and conflict, irritability, procrastination, trauma recovery, compulsive behaviours, depression, guilt, grief and letting go.

It can also help stop unwanted habits like smoking, nail biting, over eating, skin picking and more.

Hypnotherapy can also be used for weight loss and for issues around personal growth and goal setting like to improve confidence, relaxation, public speaking, self esteem, assertiveness, motivation, communication, self image and mind and body healing.


Meet Catherine

I'm a Clinical Hypnotherapist and I love helping people. I also love that hypnotherapy uses powerful, natural techniques like visualisation and meditation which make it a pleasurable experience. Helping someone overcome a debilitating phobia, anxiety or habit is very rewarding and it still amazes me how quickly hypnotherapy can change someones life. I've seen people change from being constantly worried and afraid of dying to being happy and enjoying life and from being shy and anxious to being funny and socially confident in just a few weeks.

We all have the potential to change and grow and I believe we all deserve to be happy. I do my best for every client and always include some additional exercises to help people feel happier in general and get more out of their life every day.

With an academic background in science my interest shifted to natural therapies after learning reiki. I also practiced sports and remedial massage, cranio sacral therapy and myofascial release for several years before discovering hypnotherapy. I believe that being a reiki master enhances my intuition in guiding the process of change for my clients, which is exactly what hypnotherapy is all about.
